Relationships can be difficult. Two people from different worlds trying to merge their lives together provides a multitude of challenges. Couples therapy can give you the tools you need to create the deep, committed, romantic relationship you and your partner desire. Informed by psychoeducation, I use modern approaches to help you build intimacy, closeness, and security in your relationship.
My work as a couples therapist is informed by Emotionally Focused Therapy, Gottman Method, and PACT. I continue to deepen my knowledge of relationships learning with John Howard, LMFT one of Austin's top Couples Therapists who is internationally recognized. Myself and other therapists study the latest research in neuroscience which helps the couples I work with to build secure attachment and often achieve results that last much more quickly than older therapeutic models.
While relationships can be difficult, they also have the unique ability to heal. Not only can you repair and improve your relationship, this process can also heal previous wounds from childhood or past relationships. As humans we are wired for connection but past experiences often teach us to protect ourselves from hurt and pain. Therapy can help to provide a path to transforming your relationship both with your partner and with yourself. My goal as a therapist is to create a place where you can approach your relationship with curiosity and compassion in order to create the relationship you so desire.
