FAQS
You Ask - I Answer
HOW LONG DOES THERAPY TAKE FOR THINGS TO FEEL BETTER?
There is no set amount of time for clients to be in therapy. Certain clients can identify the issues and achieve their goals, seeing change rather quickly. Others may take longer to determine what changes they want to make in their life and require additional time to practice new skills. There is no set path for therapy but we will customize a treatment plan with you that meets your needs. Some clients continue in therapy after symptoms have declined to continue their personal growth or gain deeper acceptance.
WHO EVEN GOES TO THERAPY ANYWAYS?
Unfortunately, stigma exists around mental health and relational wellness. Seeing a therapist can be just like visiting your primary care doctor for ongoing support. Things don't even need to be wrong to attend therapy while for many people, symptoms have been getting worse over time before someone decides it's time to get help. Wherever you are at on your journey, we will meet you right where you are.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM A THERAPY SESSION?
You can expect a warm, compassionate space that we will co-create with you where you are encouraged to share and explore the issues you hold close to your heart at your own pace. We welcome your feedback so if things are going in a different direction than you would like, we will change course to go in a direction more aligned with your views. While therapy can be challenging, it can also provide growth and the opportunity for change.
